Our new programs at Jane & Finch (Downsview)

Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® (P-CMGP)

In Fall 2025, we were thrilled to launch two new Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® groups in Downsview—one for infants (0–2) and one for children ages 2–4—serving families in the vibrant Jane and Finch community. In partnership with the Jane/Finch Centre, these programs are offered at the EarlyON Family Centre in Jane Finch Mall, creating a welcoming and accessible space where families can come together each week.

Downsview is a richly diverse community, home to families from over 80 cultural backgrounds and more than 100 languages. Within this beautiful diversity, our program offers something simple yet powerful: a shared experience of connection. Through songs, rhymes, and stories, parents and children come together in moments of joy, laughter, and closeness—often transcending language and cultural barriers.

Many families in the community face challenges such as financial pressures, social isolation, and the difficulties of settling into a new country. For new parents especially, these challenges can feel overwhelming. What we see in our programs, however, is something truly special: families finding comfort, friendship, and a sense of belonging. Caregivers connect with one another, share smiles and stories, and build supportive relationships. Children, in turn, experience the warmth of their caregiver’s voice, the rhythm of language, and the delight of playful interaction.

The Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® is more than an early learning experience—it is a space filled with love. Each session creates opportunities for bonding, confidence-building, and emotional connection that stay with families long after the program ends. These small, meaningful moments—singing together, holding a child close, sharing a laugh—are the foundation for healthy development and strong families.

We are deeply grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their generous support from 2025 to 2028, and to our valued community partners who help make this work possible. Together, we are creating joyful, inclusive spaces where every family feels seen, welcomed, and connected.
